Xiaomi's Redmi Note 12 Series Kicks Off Global Rollout in Asia; Semi-Flagship at affordable Prices


The Redmi Note 12 series has officially made its way to the global market, with a rollout in Asia first. The latest installment of Xiaomi’s affordable Note series comes in two versions, the Redmi Note 12 and Redmi Note 12 Pro. The phones boast a 6.67-inch LCD full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, a 13MP main camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor, and 5G connectivity. The Pro version also comes with a 48MP main camera and a quad rear camera setup.

The Redmi Note 12 series also features an X-axis linear motor, which allows for more accurate haptic feedback when typing or playing games. It also has a 4,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast-charging, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phones run on MIUI 12, Xiaomi’s custom UI based on Android 10.The Redmi Note 12 series is available in two color options, Nebula Blue and Dark Night. Prices for the Note 12 start at Rs 11,999 (approximately $160 USD) while the Note 12 Pro starts at Rs 15,999 (approximately $215 USD). This makes the new Note series one of the most affordable mid-range phones in the market today.


Xiaomi has also announced plans to launch the Redmi Note 12 series in other global markets, including Europe, Latin America and Africa. With its affordable price tag and impressive specs, the Redmi Note 12 series is sure to be a hit in these markets as well.


It remains to be seen how the Redmi Note 12 series will fare against its competition, but one thing is clear: Xiaomi has once again managed to bring a semi-flagship experience to a budget-friendly price point.


This is not the first time Xiaomi has released a semi-flagship phone with an affordable price tag. The company had previously launched the Poco F1 and Redmi K20 Pro in 2018 and 2019 respectively, which were well-received by consumers.
The Redmi Note 12 series is now available for purchase in Asia, with global rollout expected to follow soon. With its competitive specs and attractive price tag, it looks like Xiaomi has another winner on their hands.
